We are the reason prohibition was repealed.

Centrally located in the Warehouse District in Austin, TX,  Péché is distinctly Austin's first absinthe bar and the only place is the city where pre-prohibition style cocktails are prepared perfectly by our expert bartenders or "mixologists". Happy Hour is from 4-6 pm weekdays and all day on Sunday and Monday. All appetizers and sandwiches are half off during Happy Hour, or "Green Hour" if you will, and all the pre-prohibition cocktails are $5. Dorthy Parker and Oscar Wilde would be proud!

The atmosphere of Péché evokes the grandeur of the Belle Epoque, but is total cafe style and relaxing. Good conversation and inspiration guaranteed!

Our new chef Jason Dodge has created one of the best menus in Austin and we will be unveiling the new Fall menu next week. Rob Balon from Fox 7 news visited and was overwhelmed with the food and drinks at Péché. Here is a link to the review and you can watch the news piece video here.

Absinthe, often called “the Green Fairy,” is a newly legalized liquor that originated in Switzerland made from green anise and wormwood.  Vincent Van Gogh, Oscar Wilde, Charles Pierre Baudelaire, and Paul Verlaine were all recognized fans of the drink.

Péché visitors can watch their drink be prepared in front of them as iced water from a tradtional absinthe fountain is dripped over a sugar cube into the absinthe glass, resulting in the preferred milky appearance called the louche.  Péché also offers a large selection of old-fashioned and unique pre-prohibition cocktails, such as the house made Lemoncello.  The dessert drinks, similar to milkshakes, are a delicious way to wrap up the Péché experience.
